I, Walter

I almost never read historical fiction. Anything with the word "history" in the description title is most likely going to have me running for the nearest exit. But I downloaded this book during a free day and am very glad I did.

The story centers around Walter and follows his life from a poor family to a major trader of sugar and other items on the high seas. This book is full of action and adventure with a dash of romance. It's a fun read. Like many indie/small press works, there were a few editing and grammar mistakes, but I didn't feel like they ruined the story and aren't part of my review process unless they make the novel hard to read.

This book is listed in the romance section , and there's certainly a lot of romance in there, but it was more of a thriller than a romance. I couldn't put it down. The story flows from one scene to the next really nicely and there aren't any lagging places. I was swept out to sea and so glad I got this one. It was a 5 Star Read!
